I absolutely loved Casa do Barão. Pretty much everything was great from start to finish.
The host was amazing, gave me a tour around the gorgeous town house and dispensed with useful tips and info. He was extremely accommodating with everything and just an all round stellar person. For service, they get 10/10!
The room was a little on the small side and would probably been a squeeze had I shared with someone but it was perfect for a solo traveler. Clean and stylish.
Breakfast is served in the conservatory and if the weather is good, outside in the garden; I adored the tranquility of the space.
Had it been warmer, it would have been nice to have a dip in the pool.
The communal spaces are gorgeous and I especially liked the library where you can help yourself to a glass of port and/or muscatel for free – what a nice touch.
If you’re after perfection and extreme polish like is available in high end hotels, this is not the place for you but if you’re after a stay in a charming renovated townhouse with oodles of character, then this is a great highly recommended property.
Old floor boards = creaking = annoying, so beware when you’re booking and perhaps ask for a room where there’s less likelihood of this. That’s literally the only negative point I have about this place.
Characterful . Lisbon . Townhouse
