Great burger bar in central London with offshoots in Liverpool Street & London Fields
****UPDATE**********
Have been to the Bond street Patty & Bun several times and it’s consistently good. There is less attention to detail in the Liverpool Street outpost e.g they missed out putting some sauce in my chicken burger once which makes all the difference and the service can be dodgy. Also it’s an eat and go sort of set up (even more so that the Bond Street joint) with only a few bar stools dotted around the edge of the space. They’ve opened another one in London Fields (which looks like the largest of the three) but I haven’t been, so cannot comment. In sum I’d recommend the Bond Street branch but not the Liverpool Street one.

I had been wanting to go to Patty&Bun for a while because my sister had been banging on about how insane it was. So, when we had a ‘Summer Friday’ at work, it seemed like the perfect foodie escapade.
I ordered the chicken burger (marinated fried chicken, lemon, garlic, yoghurt, lettuce, spring onion, pickled cucumber and hot sauce tucked inside a brioche bun). Now this is what I am talking about! Satisfyingly crispy on the outside and oh so tender on the inside. This perfectly cooked piece of chicken is taken to the next level by its accompanying ingredients; the hotness of the sauce punches through but not terrifyingly so. The brioche bun doesn’t melt in your hand at rapid speed. It is a true delight to the senses.
In short, this is one damn sexy burger that I wouldn’t mind ravaging over and over again. Chips sprinkled with rosemary salt are also a winner.
A tiny space, no bookings policy and much hype = an inevitable queue. Once you get in, the low key decor, laid back vibe, friendly service and superb food, make the wait well worth it.
