Recent Parisian import Bar des Prés , helmed by Cyril Lignac, is dishing out raw and cooked plates influenced by both French and Eastern ingredients and cooking.
The French / French speaking lot have descended en masse to Bar Des Pres, so if you’re missing Paris – head down to Mayfair for a little dose of the French capital. For a more relaxed affair, opt for the bar seats
If mille-feuilles is on the menu, you best believe I’m ordering that shit. Cyril trained under Pierre Hermé, so yeah, I didn’t need much more convincing.
Yellowtail & avocado carpaccio, yuzu, coriander. This was nice enough but would it be a repeat dish when I return? No. Unless someone else is paying and then imma eat the whole damn place down.
Black cod caramelised with miso, baby spinach, sesame onion vinaigrette. I enviously looked on for about 5 mins and then you know ya girl wormed her way into this dish. Silk on your tongue. Ooooh weeee.
Breaded “volaille des Landes” chicken, sriracha mayonnaise. Breaded chicken sounds basic AF and I kinda chastised myself for ordering it but then fork into mouth and I was won over. Not basic. Very more-ish. Would deffo order again
Vanilla mashed potatoes. This is silky and smooth and the vanilla is very prominent. So it’s simple really if you don’t like vanilla in savoury dishes, don’t order this but if you wanna different dimension to yer mash, then by all means tuck in.
Overall I thought it was a good meal and I would revisit.
