We were headed to Athens for my cousin’s wedding and my sister wanted to extend her trip and visit a Greek Island nearby. I decided to join her and I’m so glad I did.
Hydra is about 1.5hrs by ferry from Athens. A tiny little island where the main mode of transport are donkeys. This definitely made me feel uncomfortable and we didn’t use donkeys to transport anything whilst we were out there. Aside from this, Hydra is a poster child for laid back living. There are a few nightlife spots but if you’re really after a party, then head to Mykonos instead.
