Perilla is the perfect example of elegant yet casual both in terms of the cooking and space. There’s lots of wood and foliage with a splash of marble, it’s got that organic “oh, we haven’t laboured over anything too much, we’re just stylish like” In human terms, a Zoe Kravitz type. On Sat, which is when we went, they offer up a 4 course set menu at £25 – the highlight for me was the burnt onion & cultured soup with roasted nuts served inside an onion, which coming from someone who ain’t crazy about soups, is high praise. Oh and the sourdough is a banger.
