Tapas & mezze bar from the folks behind Moro
LOCATION
Morito is on Hackney Road about a 5 mins walk from Hoxton station. It’s also about a 3 mins walk from The Marksman Pub, so you can always head there for a bevvy afterwards.
THE SPACE
A huge bar occupies the central space – this is where we perched when we visited and I’d recommend you do so too. Glass windows means the light pours in during the day, making this a gorgeous airy space.

FOOD & SERVICE
Ended up at Morito after sunning myself on the rooftop of the Marksman Pub; we weren’t super hungry, so small plates seemed like a good shout. The original Morito is on Exmouth Market, next door to its sister restaurant, Moro which has gained rave reviews over the years. Having tried rabbit for the first time in Paris a month earlier and loved it, going for the fried rabbit seasoned with rosemary and moscatel was a no brainer for me. I thought the seasoning was fab – it was just a little annoying to eat as it had so many bones. We also ordered padron peppers, I guess you can’t really fuck up this dish; regardless it was a nice accompaniment to the rabbit. Keen to return for a proper full blown meal – this visit certainly whetted my appetite. Service is casual and friendly.
VIBE
Trendy and laid back.
MOOLAH
Only had two tiny plates which came to £14 in total but if one was to have a full meal here, I’d say budget for c.£35 including vino
