COOKSHOP.TENTH AVENUE.NY

LAST VISITED NOVEMBER 2013

I had lots of fun at Cookshop. We had an 8:30pm reservation but didn’t get seated for at least 15 minutes – the place was heaving and it was only a Tuesday night. Once seated, we were looked after by the most adorable waitress – in theory she should have been annoying but she was just the sweetest, most enthusiastic person. The sommelier was funny and charming, so all in all, the service was pretty top notch.

After a somewhat disappointing duck experience at Five Leaves earlier in the day, I bravely opted for my second duck dish of the day. Thankfully this one was much more satisfying; the only let down being the sauce, which was a little too thick.

My friend insisted I couldn’t leave the States without trying bread pudding. So, I didn’t. We shared the carrot cake bread pudding with a side of vanilla ice cream. Divine and faultless, I was in pudding heaven.

It’s a casual fun restaurant with good quality food – I would definitely return.
