CENTRAL

AQUA, OXFORD STREET

Spanish & Japanese | Ba-Bou | NR
This chic rooftop (or rooftops shall I say – they have x2) pulls in a diverse crowd as it’s just off Oxford Street. The food is very average, so it’s more of a drinking spot but should you get peckish, they do have snacks available. Each terrace can hold up to 100 ppl.

EAST

BOUNDARY ROOFTOP, SHOREDITCH

Mediterranean | Ba-Bou | NR | £££
I’ve only ever dined in the main restaurant inside The Boundary but it has a famed rooftop which is really pretty – strangely I’ve never made it up here to eat. Need to change that asap. There’s a proper dining area and a drinks bit; you can book to eat but not to drink.

DALSTON ROOF PARK, DALSTON

Varies | Basic | NR | £
I first went here a number of years ago when my good friend used to host film screenings on the rooftop. They hold regular events here, usually have a food pop-up and a bar so check out what’s on via their social media pages before heading down. You have to pay a one off £5 entry and ‘become a friend’ on their website to gain entry. Open from May and from 5pm onwards usually.

This covered street food market by Street Feast has a rooftop bit where you can eat, drink and be merry. Sometimes you have to pay a cover charge, so just check their website / Facebook before you head down.

THE MARKSMAN, HACKNEY

British | Ba-Bou | RR | £££
This Michelin Pub of The Year 2017 is about 8 mins walk from Hoxton station and is possibly my favourite rooftop in London – intimate, casual and pretty. Best for 1 on 1 catch ups as it’s not a massive space. They may ask you to order a snack – get the superb beef + barley buns.

SOUTH

THE CUT, SOUTHWARK

Modern Euro | Basic | NR
The restaurant at The Young Vic is a destination in itself. If you’re going to the theatre definitely eat here and if you’re in the area it’s worth checking out. There’s a bar upstairs with a rooftop terrace – I think it’s drinks only but if you ask nicely they may let you eat here.

No Rooftop list is complete without mentioning Frank’s Cafe in Peckham  but I have to admit, I’ve never  been, so I can’t say for sure, it’s top notch but loadsaa people do so, you know check it out if your down South.
